Organized Sessions

We are planning five organized special sessions focused on specific topics of the conference. The list with titles, short descriptions as well as the organizers names and contacts are offered below.

If you would like to contribute a talk to any of the sessions, please e-mail the organizers at the address listed below.

Session 1. Title: Dynamical Systems in Biology and Medicine

Organizers: Urszula Foryś, Department of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, University of Warsaw, Poland, Agnieszka Bartłomiejczyk, Institute of Applied Mathematics, Gdańsk University of Technology, Poland

Contact: urszula@mimuw.edu.pl

Description: This session focuses on presenting a wide range of applications of dynamical systems in medical and biological sciences, addressing problems related to tumor growth and treatment, neuroscience, ecology, epidemiology and gene expression. However, presentations focusing on other biomedical problems described in the language of dynamical systems are also welcome. We will concentrate our attention on both analytical and numerical results, which are an essential element of research work. We hope that our session will be a fruitful forum for discussion, exchange of ideas and mutual inspiration.

Session 2: Title: Differential Equations, Inequalities,
and their Multifaceted Applications

Organizers: Anna Ochal, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, Jagiellonian University, Poland Wojciech Kryszewski, Instytut of Mathematics, Lodz University of Technology, Poland

Contact: wojciech.kryszewski@p.lodz.pl or anna.ochal@ii.uj.edu.pl

Description: In the session, we will explore the multifaceted realm of differential equations and inequalities, and their applications through a diverse set of approaches, including topological, variational, and operator theory methods. By bridging theory and practice, this session aims to illustrate how these mathematical tools can provide insights into a wide array of problems across science and engineering, offering perspectives and solutions to some of the challenging issues of mathematical modeling and its real-world impact.

Session 3. Title: Dynamical Systems in Engineering

Organizers: Przemysław Perlikowski and Tomasz Kubiak, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Lodz University of Technology, Poland

Contact: przemyslaw.perlikowski@p.lodz.pl

Description: This session is devoted to the dynamics and vibrations of engineering systems, emphasizing theoretical developments and practical applications. The investigation area should focus on discrete and continuum dynamics with mechanical and civil engineering applications. We welcome submissions which present the analytical, numerical and experimental investigation of smooth and non-smooth systems. During this session, there will be an opportunity to explore the latest advancements in modelling, simulation, and experimental techniques, which are critical for understanding the complex dynamic responses in engineering systems. Our aim is to foster a knowledge exchange between engineers and mathematicians and initiate a new collaboration where theoretical insights meet practical applications.

Session 4. Title: Optimal Control, Theory and Applications

Organizers: Maria do Rosario de Pinho, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Porto, Portugal

Contact: mrpinho@fe.up.pt

Description: This session focuses on the latest developments of optimal control, covering both theoretic and applied aspects. Necessary conditions for optimality will be discussed including problems with state space constraints as well as challenges in formulating effective sufficiency conditions will be addressed. We will present applications to various fields including biomedicine, epidemiology, physics and engineering.

Session 5. Title: Nonlinear Control and Applications

Organizers: Witold Respondek, Institute of Automatic Control, Lodz University of Technology, Poland

Contact: witold.respondek@insa-rouen.fr

Description: This session focuses on presenting various mathematical methods, coming from geometry, functional analysis, and other domains of mathematics, used in nonlinear control theory and its applications. Those methods allow to study basic structural problems of nonlinear control (controllability, observability, classification, invariants) and to apply them to develop control strategies for physical systems met in mechanics, robotics, electrical engineering etc.

Session 6. Title: Stochastic Processes with Applications

Organizers: Żywilla Fechner, Institute of Mathematics, Lodz University of Technology, Poland and Bozenna Pasik-Duncan, Department of Mathematics, University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS, United States

Contact: zywilla.fechner@p.lodz.pl

Description: This section focuses on the applications of stochastic processes, including SDEs, in various scientific domains, such as financial mathematics, machine learning, epidemiology, healthcare, climate modeling, stochastic control, and optimization, among others. Through mathematical rigor and statistical techniques, we will strive to tackle problems posed by dynamic real-world phenomena influenced by randomness.

Poster Session. Title: Dynamical Systems, Theory and Applications

Organizers: Adam Bobrowski, Department of Mathematics, Lublin University of Technology, Poland and Marek Majewski, Department of Mathematics and Computer Science, University of Lodz, Poland

Contact: marek.majewski@wmii.uni.lodz.pl or bobrowscy@gmail.com

Description: The purpose of the session is to give a chance to the junior researchers to present their work and receive feedback from other participants of the conference. Based on the participants votes the Best Poster Award will be given.
