Venue

The venue of the conference is the main campus of the Lodz University of Technology (in Polish Politechnika Łódzka).

Created only in 1945, Politechnika Łódzka developed into one of the biggest technical university in Poland, recently ranked among ten top best higher education institutions in the country.

The Politechnika’s campus encompasses as many as 70 buildings providing an interesting architectural mixture of modern and old. A number of departments are located in the rebuild and restructured old textile factory buildings like the LODEX - see first photo (home of the Institute of Mathematics, main host of the conference). This adds to the overall image of Lodz as a city famous for its sustainability (top award from the National Geographic) with the refinished red brick factory buildings and palaces of the past industrialists dominating the landscape. One of them is a villa of the factory owner Reinhold Richter on the Politechnika’s campus (see third photo), currently office of the Rector (Head of Politechnika).

We will make sure that the busy conference schedule will still leave some room to explore the interesting history of the city.

However, in order to provide the participants with the maximum comfort and amenities the lectures of the conference will be held in the modern Physics Building (see second photo).
